My involvement in graphic user interface design started in 1992, building screen mock-ups, icons, and animations for a demo system that would later become western Canada’s first TV-based home banking system (“VanCity Direct TV”), which was introduced to VanCity’s credit union customers in 1994.
Since then, I’ve worked with many talented visual artists and software designers, and learned a lot about the dynamic balance between GUI functionality, perception, usability, and the need for user-centred design principles.
