I’m reading some reflections by BC artist Jack Shadbolt, and this comment about the loss of childhood innocence really resonated for me:
“Every child deserves a modicum of pure ecstatic happiness in his younger years to give him a balance against the realities of growing up into the final realization of the indifference of the world at large.”
